Psalms 27
Read
The Lord is my light and my salvation— whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life— of whom shall I be afraid? When the wicked advance against me to devour or slander me, it is my enemies and my foes who will stumble and fall. Though an army besiege me, my heart will not fear; though war break out against me, even then I will be confident. One thing I ask from the Lord, this only do I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze on the beauty of the Lord and to seek him in his temple. For in the day of trouble he will keep me safe in his dwelling; he will hide me in the shelter of his sacred tent and set me high upon a rock. Then my head will be exalted above the enemies who surround me; at his sacred tent I will sacrifice with shouts of joy; I will sing and make music to the Lord. Hear my voice when I call, Lord; be merciful to me and answer me. My heart says of you, “Seek his face!” Your face, Lord, I will seek. Do not hide your face from me, do not turn your servant away in anger; you have been my helper. Do not reject me or forsake me, God my Savior. Though my father and mother forsake me, the Lord will receive me. Teach me your way, Lord; lead me in a straight path because of my oppressors. Do not turn me over to the desire of my foes, for false witnesses rise up against me, spouting malicious accusations. I remain confident of this: I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.’ Psalms 27:1-14

Reflect and meditate
Bring to mind a time you felt attacked. This could be verbally, physically, emotionally, spiritually. See the situation in your mind and then ask Jesus, “Where were you in the room?” Allow Him to reveal to you where he was at that time. Feel the confidence building in you, knowing Jesus was there with you.
Pray
Thank Jesus for going before us and being with us, for never leaving us or forsaking us.

Reflect and meditate
Imagine dwelling in the house of the Lord. See it in your mind’s eye. Seek Him in His temple. Call out to Him and seek His face. Gaze on His beauty. Soak in the immense feeling of safety when you are with Him. He is hiding you in his house. You are set apart and above your enemies. Because of this, you begin to bring Him shouts of joy. You begin to make music in the way He designed you to make music. What does it sound like as you bring your sacrifice of joy to Him?

Reflect and meditate
God promises to never leave or forsake us. He is a promise-keeper. Go back to the time you felt attacked. How did He show up? How was He your helper in this time of need? What did it look like when He led you on a straight path during that time of hardship?
Pray
Thank Him for keeping His promises. Thank Him for being your helper. Thank Him for keeping you on the path He has for you.

Psalms 27:13-14
Reflect and meditate
The “land of the living” is here and now. David was confident God would show up and lavish His goodness upon him. We, too, can trust God to do this. He wants to give His children good gifts.
Where do you need God to show up and pour out His goodness in your life? Imagine yourself back in God’s house. As you seek Him and gaze at His beauty, bring that situation before Him. It is a safe place to do so. Then, wait. Be still. Take heart and wait. He may speak to you. He may cry with you. He may sit with you in silence. Whatever His response, He is so glad to be with you and so glad you brought this situation to Him..
